Central Committee of the Iraqi Communist Party
Holds its Regular Meeting
(5th November 2010)
The Central Committee of the Iraqi Communist Party held a regular meeting in Baghdad on Friday 5th November 2010. The meeting opened with a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs of the recent criminal terrorist acts, and to commemorate the party comrades and other activists in the national arena who had passed away.
The meeting discussed the developments in the country since the Central Committee’s last meeting in April 2010. It focused above all on issues concerning the ongoing political crisis, the harm caused by the delay in forming the government, the security situation, the people’s suffering as a result of deteriorating living conditions and services, the growing protest movement, and the progress achieved in bringing together the forces of the democratic current and unifying their capacities. In addition to discussing the political report, the Central Committee also considered a report on the activities of the party leadership and organizations since its last meeting, in various fields: organization, mass action, ideological work, national and international relations, media, etc. The meeting also discussed preparations for holding the 9th National Congress of the party in the coming year.
A detailed Communiqué will be issued soon.
