35th Anniversary of the Martyrdom of 39 Iraqi Communist Party members and supporters
“Tareeq Al-Shaab” (People’s Path), the
daily paper issued by the Iraqi Communist Party, paid tribute to 39 members and
supporters of the party who were executed by the fascist dictator Saddam
Hussein in May 1978.
That barbaric crime was carried out on 17
and 21 May 1978, after being sentenced to death by the so-called “Revolution
Court”, on trumped-up charges of setting up communist organizations in the
army.
Two pages of the “Tareeq Al-Shaab” (on 21
May 2013) were devoted to the martyrs, with their photos, as well as articles
paying tribute to them. Their memory continues to live in the hearts and souls
of the Iraqi people. The murderers, however, were ended up in the dustbin of
history.
